I was fortunate enough to work with someone who had done the surgery prior to having done so myself. By the time I had made up my mind to have the surgery, she had lost a huge amount of weight and it seemed so "effortless". My experience with the surgery and the doctor and his staff were amazing. I have had several people comment on having the surgery ndone in Mexico. That was part of the experience. I am sure the US doctors are just as skilled and awesome as those in Mexico, but the experience of Mexico, one on one attention by the nurses and staff went above and beyond my expectations. I am one that seems to get thru the pain and sickness of surgery fairly easy. I was walking the streets near the motel the day after the surgery. Walking a little slower than normal but walking none the less. Did it change my life? YES!! I have done one diet after another almost my entire life. By the time I was down twenty pounds i was always ready to quit. This surgery kept me going on changing my eating habits. Yes, I HAD to re-learn to eat properly, something diets don't really get across very well. With diets, when I was tired of following the eating properly routine, I would stop. Not now. I have lost 51 pounds as of today. I feel great. I feel like I got my life back. But there have been and are still days I feel like I am not getting anywhere. My friend has to keep reminding me that the weight did not just appear overnight and it certainly not going to disappear overnight. To anyone seriously thinking of having this surgery, IT IS WORTH IT. fay
