I am 8 weeks post-op and have lost 40 lbs. Prior to surgery it would have taken me 8 weeks to lose 5 lbs and I would have gained it back. I am already wearing 2 sizes smaller clothes. I will admit that the first 2 weeks post surgery was difficult. Not much pain but the inability to eat was difficult. I followed the instructions but felt hungry until I could eat a little pureed food, and I mean a little, I could only eat a few spoons and this made me so happy.Being full was a wonderful feeling after 2 bites! Being able to travel home (all the way to Florida from San Diego)so soon after surgery was surprisingly easy. I still feel that I am not losing fast enough, but I will admit that I want miracles and this is only a tool, but I am very happy anyway. Thank you for helping me begin this journey. I am a registered nurse and know that any surgery is difficult, and problems and complications can occur. I am glad to say that mine was fairly smooth the 2 days post op was difficult as i was not prepared to stay in hospital and have an N/G tube in. I would have like liked a bit more preparation for this aspect, however I did not have any nausea and this was very much appreciated. I am fully healed and my lifestyle is much more healthy. I am able to eat in a restaurant and bring enough for 4 more meals home with me, what a wonderful thing!
