Call Now!
Hey everyone. I am 2 weeks and a day post op. I am down 27 pounds and feeling great. I have one tiny opening on ONE incision but that is closing nicely. I have a great doc here in Iowa watching that for me.
Here is what I can tell you if you are interested in having a procedure done. Coming to the center in Tijuana is exciting, nerve racking and ultimately a unique experience. Nothing you have done before prepares you for this event. The clinic is small and is in a strip mall but man is it clean and the people there smile and make you feel as good as you can feel after a few days on a liquid diet.
You will be others going through the same thing and this is such a help, knowing that you will have new friends for life. The day of surgery is long and sometimes boring but once you are up for surgery, things move very quickly and before you know it, you are in bed resting.
I am a RN and surgical nurse so know my way around this type of event. I don't know if others who are not in my field felt much different than I did, I just know that they folks there care about you and care about doing a good job. It is a little like old fashion medicine in america but really, that is a good thing.
The day after surgery you get to retire to a very nice 4 star hotel that makes the whole stay worthwhile. You will be busy with transports back and forth to the clinic and also walking around town. Sleep was easy and the time passes quickly.
Coming home was a breeze and I was back to work the next day......slow but did great.
As I am learning about new foods and what I can and cannot eat, my stomach is an immediate feedback system. The one thing I can tell you all is that food no longer controls my life.......that is amazing.........
I am bringing my 21 year old daughter down to have this surgery done. I will see some of you again soon.
