My gastric bypass done in 2000 had stretched out due to the years. My weight was starting to return and my options were slim. It was a bit scary to think I had to go to Mexico to have this done and it be affordable. Sometimes your last chance is your best chance.
The staff was very caring from the get go. THe small "hospital" is in a strip mall but it is so well maintained. It is immaculately clean and that struck me from the moment I stepped thru the doors. It is a crowded place as they cater to a lot of local people as well. They always say go where the locals go!
I was cared for and met the surgeon himself as he came and introduced himself to us all. He has had this same surgery and somehow that is comforting. You do have to wait your turn for surgery and that was a little unnerving but you talk to other people who had it that are "walking" around and so you know it isn't that bad. The staff again, they are nurturing and try to be there with you along your journey as much as they can without distracting them from everybody else vying for their attentions. They do a great job!! Just make sure you have a bariatric place back home to attend to you for fills and extended care before hand. This was the only thing that was a bit troublesome for me and I pay a high price I feel for fills in the USA.
I would recommend Jerusalem Hospital as it was a very good experience for me. Please realize you have a few side effects of gas and minimal pain after surgery but they cater to your needs well and answer your questions..IT GOT MY LIFE BACK ON TRACK...
