I was a bit reserved about having this procedure in Mexico. I did lots of research read several testimonials and decided to give the surgery a try. The driving staff to and from the airport was extremely pleasant. The Hospital staff its hard to describe. I truely have never seen a hospital staff this pleasant and polite as the HMN hospital is. The Hospital is not very big and not very fancy as the ones here in the States but I was there for a surgery. Inside was very clean and tidy, the waiting time is minimal. 5 of us came in the morning of surgery did our short paperwork then off for bloodwork and EKG. When all of us were done off to our rooms to change and to a meeting with the DR. Almanza. All of us gathered in one room as he talked to each one of us and answered any questions we may have had. He sure is a pleasant DR. Then one at a time off to surgery. Next thing I knew I was waking up. The procedure is 30-35 mins. Spent the night in the hospital the off to the Hotel for my aftercare. By the way the Hotel Ticuan is very nice. Here they have you do some of your own care. You take your shower each day remove your bandages then call them to put new ones on. 2X per day you get an IV and shots. The day after surgery I went walking down the street I felt that good. I think the gas in my body was the only pain I had till it all passed through. The nurses and Dr. at the hotel are pleasant and polite too. I still am amazed by the care they gave me while I was there. To have everyone so pleasant has made this a very nice experience, and for me its a big part of my surgery experience. So for anyone who may have doubts like I did, once you see everything there and the great staff those doubts will be gone. I would like to thank everyone at HMN for their kindness.
