my name is jennifer i decided to change my life by having the gastric sleeve done. Dr. almanza and his staff are wonderful. They took care of me from picking me up at the airport and taking me to the hotel which was beautiful. Having his nursing staff at the hotel was wounderful. They came to my room and preped me for sergery the next day. They told me what time to be down stairs, to be taken to the clinic. The clinic is not a clinic like we are accostomed to, being located in a strip mall, but once inside everything is clean and clinic like atmosphere. We were taken up stairs to be preped for sergery. Then Dr.Almanza came and spoke to us to tell us what was going to happen and get a bit of information from us. Then i was taken to sergery. I awoke feeling just fine ,I waked up stairs to the rooms ,even though small and had another patient there it was just fine. The nurses were wounderful went out of there way to help make me comfortable. After recovery we were taken back to the hotel to recover in cofort. The nurses are at the hotel so if anything came up they were there to help. Two days after sergery we were given a drink that unfortunately tastes horrible so when we have our xrays they can tell that our stomaches are sealed up. The added touch was free soup broth water juice and freezies at the hotel. Then back across the border and fly home. It is very important to read all information given to you. You cant just guzle water and eat a meal, everything from then on is super small portions from sipping water and only being able to drink a cup or two a day, and then gets better. The biggest thing is realizing the small portions you will have to eat for the rest of your life. But the weight you will lose and the way you will feel is worth it. It has been two monthes since my sergery and i have lost 63 pounds, and counting. I feel great.I cant wait to see myself after six monthes or a year.
