I had my surgery (the sleeve) done on 8/19/14. It was scheduled initially for 8/20/14 but when I arrived in Mexico on 8/19/14 the Doctor schedule had opened up. I was asked if I would like to have my surgery done on 8/19/14? So, I decided to say yes before I chickened out. I must admit that I was terrified with my decision on having my surgery in MEXICO? MEXICO, I have heard so many horror stories. When I arrived in San Diego. I was told that I should go to area F outside of the curb and wait for my van to pick me up. Ok, I am even more scared now. I am thinking drug cartels, human trafficking, black market body parts etc (lol). So my driver is there awaiting my pick up. He is so nice and patient ( He speaks English well). What a relief! I get to the facility and the staff is very warming ( They also speak English well). The doctor did not speak much English but enough to make you feel comfortable( like ok he knows what he is doing). My nurses was very clean and took great care of me at the facility as well as at the hotel. Post Op in the hotel you will have another doctor to do rounds. He is very nice and he speaks very good English. The hotel is very beautiful compare to some of the blogs that I have read about a store front recovery area. After surgery, I spent one night in the hospital and thereafter I slept in the hotel in a king size bed like if I was at home. If I had any questions or concerns all I had to do is pick up the hotel phone and dial 109. The nurses are on staff at the hotel. There is a restaurant in the lobby of the hotel. My husband said the food is amazing. Real Mexican Food. Yummy, too bad I wasn't able to eat any Mexican food(Liquid Diet Pre and PostOp). I would recommend this surgery in Mexico to everyone and anyone. I have lost 13 lbs already and still counting. Feeling wonderful
