The routine is very embedded, such that you never have to worry where you are going or when you need to be there, etc. It's like a team effort between the other individuals there for surgery, the hospital staff, and the hotel staff. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. There is an order to things that makes the process feel familiar. The hotel provides room service for a ridiculously affordable price, which was awesome after the trip there, having been famished! (A HUGE bowl of DELICIOUS clam chowder and a soda - which you will want to indulge in, as it will be your last for a while - were only $6.80). My advice to you is bring someone if at all possible to help you through your journey. It was kind of tough managing alone; however, between the staff and my roommate, it was manageable. After arriving home, I visited my local hospital to have my post-op exam, and everything looked great! It also helps to have supportive friends and family lined up to help once you arrive home. (I learned to start telling those who asked what they could do to help that I would more than welcome a home-cooked meal brought over on one night of the first week home. The surgery was ultimately a success! I am ready for the weight to begin shedding! Good luck!
