My biggest worry about this procedure was the fact that it was in Mexico. My biggest fear was that it wouldn't be clean or in a nice hospital. I WAS WRONG. The hospital was very clean and nice. The nurses did whatever they could for you and it was a very professional system.
Another worry I had was that I am hypoglycemic. This is the opposite of diabetes. If I don't eat something every few hours I get dizzy. This, however; hasn't been a problem.
Now, about the surgery. I decided to do this surgery because I felt it was my last resort. I had tried diets and exercise and it never did give me the results I desired. I would lose 30 pound over the course of 3 months and then that would be it.
SO, I signed up for the surgery. I had the 10 day preop diet. I followed this very strictly and lost 20 pounds during that time. I started out at 401 pounds and was 381 the day of surgery. It has now been exactly 2 weeks since my surgery and I now weigh 365 pounds. That is a total weight loss of about 35 pounds in 24 days.
All in all, this has by far been the best decision of my life. I feel so much better and my goal of being a healthy person is getting closer everyday.
I hope this helps someone else make this life-changing decision!
