I have to say "AWESOME" because that's what the whole experience was. From the minute we arrived at Jerusalem Hospital until the time we were dropped back at the airport the nursing staff and transport crew were very professional and courteous. On the outside the hospital doesn't look like much but it was very modern and clean. If you could compare it to anything it is somewhat like having cataract surgery, everyone waits for their turn. We were prepped and evaluated, and then taken to have the surgery. I don't know what I was given for pain or for the anesthesia but I had very little pain and felt reasonably good the next day.
I started with a BMI of 28 which isn't all that high but my reasons for having the surgery were all of my risk factors not necessarily obesity. I have sleep apnea, Diabetes, high blood pressure, acid reflux, high cholesterol and triglycerides. My Mother had diabetes and heart attacks and by-pass surgery that ultimately lead to her death. I wanted to have a healthier life by getting my weight down and my sugars under control.
To date, I have lost 35 pounds, my Diabetes is gone, I still use my C-pap machine because I haven't had a re-eval for that, my BP is normal and my Triglycerides are the lowest they have ever been.
