To be honest I went into this whole experience with anxiety and trepidation.
I am happy to say that the entire experience from begging to end was more than I could have hoped for.
From day one starting with my research, through the surgery and after care and now 4 months later I have been thoroughly satisfied and happy with the results.
Yes, going to Mexico for the surgery was a big decision and one that most people would not undertake. I myself didn't share my decision for surgery with my family and friends until after I had it done to avoid the naysayers.
The initial pick up at SAN was a little confusing since there is no direct area to meet and you don't know who else is being picked up. Maybe having someone on site at an are to meet with a sign would be helpful to gather everyone then call for the van.
With the language issue a minor nuisance the experience all in all was pretty good. The hotel and medical staff were prepared, knowledgeable and very friendly. There was plenty of food available and accessible.
The staff was also very organized with getting everyone to where they have to be. At the hospital and at the hotel the nurses and doctors were on par with any you could find in the US.
After surgery, the subsequent return home was uneventful. If I had any questions or concerns I could email or text and get a response back very quickly. I never felt alone.
Yes of course there are minor issue with pain and discomfort but nothing not manageable if you follow the recommendations of the program.
I would recommend this to anyone. 4 months and I am down 55 pounds. I have more energy and confidence than I have in a long time.
Thanks to everyone who helped to start my life again. My husband and children are all very happy and thankful as well.
