I went to Tijuana on a wing and a prayer. I was very scared of surgery in a foreign country and I was completely all by myself. The morning of surgery, I met a sweet girl named Jenna who was riding from my hotel to the Jet Blu airport terminal with me to also have gastric sleeve. She was very sweet and had a great Mom who was there with her. They were both there to make me feel less scared and worried. Then I met up with some other really great ladies at the terminal! There were I believe 7 patients and 6 guests that day. I was the only one without a guest and felt a bit sad about that but the other ladies did try to make me feel better and they DID. When we got to Tijuana I wasn't sure what to expect but the staff and the other ladies getting surgery all made me feel at ease. The clinic was small but clean. The nurses were SO good. I really liked the cardiologist who was kind and always smiling. Dr. Almanza explained the surgeries to us and even took a pic with us as a sort of record I suppose.
The surgeries went by faster than I thought and when my turn came I was wheeled in and was asleep in no time at all. I woke up from surgery and knew it was over :-). I was one of the lucky ones with very little pain only a bit of discomfort from the incisions. The following day I stayed at the recovery house and then I went on to the Hotel Ticuan. Everyone was so nice. I flew out after I passed the leak test a day early because I was feeling well and ready to go home. The process was all good and I was pleased with everything. The cost was affordable and I will probably come back for a tummy tuck. I have done really well with my weight loss and I am closing in on my goal. Gracias Clinica Jerusalem en Tijuana y Dr. Almanza por todo!
